Job summary

Targa Resources in Oklahoma is seeking a Financial Analyst to support revenue and cost of sales accounting for our gas processing operations. You will calculate product revenues, monitor gross margins, analyze operational reports, and verify contract setups for monthly gas purchase statements and settlements.

You will work with the commercial group to resolve issues related to revenue and cost of sales, prepare reconciliations, margin analyses, and ensure SOX compliance, while handling multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1-3 years public accounting or operational accounting experience; Senior Analyst 3-5 years.
• Prior energy industry experience.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for calculating product revenues and associated gas purchase cost and the recording of all transactions in the accounting system as they relate to the gross margins reported for assigned gas processing plants.
• Analyze operational reports and work with the commercial group to resolve all questions and issues related to the revenue and cost of sales associated with the assigned facilities.
• Review new contracts and verify the set-up of the appropriate calculations to create monthly gas purchase statements and financial settlements in compliance with the contract.
• Analyze account balances and gross margin account activity at month end and prepare account reconciliations, margin analysis, and SOX documentation.
• Actively participate in special projects as requested.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 1-3 years public accounting or operational accounting expereince / Senior Analyst should have 3-5 years
• Prior energy industry experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of operating agreements and gas processing/purchase contracts
• Experience in midstream gas accounting is strongly preferred
• Familiar with Oracle Cloud Financials and Waterfield settlement systemsDemonstrate an ability to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced team environment, with limited supervision
