Job summary

Targa Resources in Tulsa, OK seeks a Senior Analyst to manage revenue and cost accounting for gas processing plants, recording transactions to report gross margins.

You will analyze operational reports with the commercial group, review contracts for monthly gas purchase statements, and prepare financial settlements in line with contracts. A Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 1–5 years energy experience are preferred, with strong GAAP knowledge and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new contracts and verify setup of calculations to create monthly gas purchase statements and financial settlements in compliance with the contract.
• Analyze account balances and gross margin activity at month end; prepare reconciliations, margin analysis, and SOX documentation.
• Actively participate in special projects as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES

• Responsible for calculating product revenues and associated gas purchase cost and the recording of all transactions in the accounting system as they relate to the gross margins reported for assigned gas processing plants.
• Analyze operational reports and work with the commercial group to resolve all questions and issues related to the revenue and cost of sales associated with the assigned facilities.
• Review new contracts and verify the set-up of the appropriate calculations to create monthly gas purchase statements and financial settlements in compliance with the contract.
• Analyze account balances and gross margin account activity at month end and prepare account reconciliations, margin analysis, and SOX documentation.
• Actively participate in special projects as requested.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 1-3 years public accounting or operational accounting expereince / Senior Analyst should have 3-5 years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of operating agreements and gas processing/purchase contracts
• Experience in midstream gas accounting is strongly preferred
• Familiar with Oracle Cloud Financials and Waterfield settlement systems
• Demonstrate an ability to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced team environment, with limited supervision
