Job summary

COUNTRY Financial is seeking candidates for its Controllers Rotational Program in Illinois. Over a structured two-year journey, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple accounting and finance disciplines while building a deep understanding of how a leading insurance organization operates.

This role involves general accounting activities, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations and financial statement prep in line with controls and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, analyzes, and reconciles financial transactions, account balances, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Completes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Analyzes financial data and accounting records to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Identifies, implements, and maintains effective internal controls and supports compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Contributes to special projects, system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and other departmental priorities.
• Prepares and delivers presentations and project updates to management and stakeholders.
• Maintains confidentiality of financial information and exercises sound professional judgment in performing assigned responsibilities.

This role can expect to perform general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements in compliance with defined controls, standards, and regulations. You can also expect to compile and analyze financial information, and contribute to meaningful process improvements.

Base Pay Range: $54,800-$75,350

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
