Job summary

iicrc-careers is seeking an Accountant to lead and manage all accounting functions for remodeling and construction projects. The role reports to the President and involves maintaining GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience in related fields, be proficient in QuickBooks Online and MS Excel, and be highly organized with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in remodeling/home improvement/construction industries.
• Proficient with QuickBooks Online, MS Excel, MS Word; able to use other software as needed.
• Must be process oriented, highly organized and able to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions for home improvement/remodeling projects.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and project forecasts; manage job costing and billing.
• Reconcile project budgets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

What does a Lead Accountant with our company do?

• Oversee and maintain all accounting functions - GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, produce monthly financial statements, etc.
• Update and maintain financial accounting software - Quickbooks online
• Assist the management team in job costing, project P/L and financial analysis

Team Qualifications (Requirements):

• Must have 5+ years of experience in accounting with a remodeling/home improvement/construction company
• Proficient with QBO, MS Excel, MS Word, other software
• Must be process oriented
• Driven to join our team and add value through positivity and dedication
• Must be able to prioritize and manage time, and be extremely organized
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Be willing and able to work 20 - 30 hours weekly, which will vary based on the workload and time of year
• Be willing to work in person 4 - 6 hours per day (4 - 5 days per week depending on your preference)

Role on the Team (Job Responsibilities):

• Assist other team members when needed and foster a positive working relationship with other departments.
• Manage day to day accounting functions for home improvement and remodeling projects
• Possess strong listening and communication skills, ask questions and monitor various aspects of the business to detect problems
• Handle all job costing and billing
• Prepare monthly financial reports and project forecasts
• Maintain all accounting, computer and financial records
• Reconcile project budgets and monitor profit margins
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies
