Job summary

Highspring LLC (d/b/a Vaco by Highspring) is seeking an experienced Accountant focused on fixed assets and lease accounting in Louisville. You will manage accounting and reporting for the lease portfolio, maintain fixed asset records, and perform monthly depreciation and journal entries.

The role supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and ensures ASC 842 compliance. Strong GAAP knowledge and Excel proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with fixed assets, leases, or general ledger accounting.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel with PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP; ERP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting and reporting for the lease portfolio, including operating and finance leases.
  • Maintain fixed asset records: additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, retirements.
  • Perform monthly depreciation and amortization; ensure correct GL postings.
  • Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries for leases and fixed assets.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for fixed assets, depreciation, lease liabilities, and related accounts.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor capital expenditures; classify, record, and place assets in service.
  • Review lease schedules and reconcile to GL and supporting docs.
  • Assist with lease modifications, renewals, terminations, and other changes to lease agreements.
  • Support ASC 842 implementation and ongoing accounting treatment.
  • Assist with annual fixed asset and lease audits with schedules and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with AP, Procurement, Operations to ensure timely accurate recording.
  • Research accounting issues and apply GAAP to fixed asset and lease transactions.
  • Identify discrepancies and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Maintain organized documentation for internal and external reporting.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement in accounting.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
