Job summary

PDS Health, Irvine, CA, seeks an Accountant I to support general accounting in the month-end close cycle and assist the Accounting Department in daily tasks.

You will prepare journals, reconcile accounts, analyze variances, and assist with budget-to-actual analyses, while supporting regional finance needs and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college; or 5+ years of professional experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience
• Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar enterprise resource planning applications.

Responsibilities

• Support general accounting in the month-end close cycle; prepare journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and maintain inventory, construction-in-progress, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure balances are valid and accurate.
• Assist with preparing pro-forma budget to actual cost variance analysis for projects to ensure costs are valid, accurately allocated, and align with budget.
• Evaluate invoices to determine whether the costs can be capitalized align with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Review procedures and recommend scalable solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of department transactions and projects.
• Support Regional Finance Directors; research and respond to inquiries and prepare journal entries.
• Identify and analyze discrepancies to determine root cause and corrective solution.
• Analyze and interpret historical trends: monthly accruals for lab, supply, property tax and utility expenditures.
• Perform expense analysis, identify accounting methodology and propose an efficient approach.
• Conceptualize and prepare financial reports and other reports.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Overview
