Job summary

Wasillachamber in Anchorage seeks a General Accountant focused on accounts payable to support the mission of delivering essential medical services. You will manage high-volume AP tasks and contribute to financial accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three years of accounting experience.
  • Heavy accounts payable experience with process improvements.
  • Experience with Pivot tables, reconciliations, and data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage high-volume accounts payable with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes.
  • Perform internal audit responsibilities and support audits.
  • Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and analyses.
  • Handle cash with integrity and accuracy.
  • Support management with reporting and metrics.

Key responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Finance or related field considered
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum three years of accounting experience
  • Heavy AP experience with a process improvement mindset
  • Experience with Pivot tables, purchase order process, reconciliations, etc.
  • Audit experience — internal and/or external
  • Experience in AP and AR duties with data input
  • Experience maintaining records, entering journal entries, and reporting
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and staff
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy and procedure manuals and technical documentation
