Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking an Accountant - Operations to perform professional accounting work, including analysis and reporting of financial data for the bond program and capital projects within the Operations Department.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields, with CPA/TASBO preferred. Candidates should have strong GASB knowledge, recordkeeping ability, and experience with PMIS and TEAMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management, or business required.
• Major in accounting, TASBO certification and/or CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current working knowledge of district policy and TEA/FASRG requirements.
• Supervise Construction department accounting and accounts payable functions.
• Maintain records for construction projects and current budgets.
• Approve payments, verify retainage, and process electronic transfers.
• Prepare reports on bond proceeds, expenditures, and encumbrances.
• Oversee PMIS records reconciliation with TEAMS monthly.
