Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking an Accountant - Operations to perform professional accounting work, including consolidation, reporting and analysis of financial data for the bond program and capital projects in the Operations Department.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with preference for TASBO or CPA. Experience in governmental accounting and strong reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting/finance/business.
• Major in accounting and professional certifications (preferred).
• Experience in governmental accounting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain policies and regulations per TEA FASRG and GAO guidelines.
• Supervise Construction dept accounting and AP functions.
• Maintain records for construction projects and current budgets.
• Approve project payments and manage fund transfers.
• Prepare periodic reports on bond proceeds and expenditures.
• Oversee AP for construction and capital projects.
