Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, board reports, and tax reports.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger, cash, and bank accounts.
• Perform account reconciliations and adjust entries.
• Assist with month-end close and reporting processes.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
• Maintain fixed assets and prepaid expense schedules.
• Analyze issues and propose process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with policies and GAAP.
• Provide backup support to accounting teammates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, board reports, tax reports, and other financial reporting deliverables.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger, cash, and bank accounts.
• Perform account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and prepare adjusting entries as needed.
• Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting processes.
• Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory examinations.
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules.
• Analyze accounting issues, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred, including pivot tables, nested formulas, Power Query, and VBA.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within banking, credit union, or other financial institution environments is a plus.
