Job summary

Atomic Industries, headquartered in Detroit, is transforming manufacturing through an AI-driven platform. We seek an Accountant to own journal entries, reconciliations, and the monthly close, while managing AP/AR workflows and supporting reporting.

The role offers growth into cost accounting, fixed assets, and automation as the company scales. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and the broader Finance team to build a scalable accounting backbone for a high-transaction, high-growth

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and GL ownership.
• Big 4 or equivalent public accounting background a plus; CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience across AP and AR cycles.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to learn new systems; QuickBooks Online is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under high volume and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit journal entries and account reconciliations; support monthly close including accruals and prepaids.
• Manage accounts payable cycle: invoice intake, three-way matching, GL/cost center coding, vendor data, 1099 reporting.
• Manage accounts receivable: invoicing, collections, cash application, AR aging.
• Reconcile vendor statements and coordinate with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies and ensure PO/receiving accuracy.
• Support cost accounting, inventory, and fixed asset workflows as needed.
• Assist with payroll processing, including reviewing hours and adjustments.
• Contribute to financial reporting, audit support, and due diligence as the company scales.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and identify opportunities to automate processes.
