Job summary

The State of Wyoming seeks a detail-oriented financial technician to prepare and process department transactions using the WOLFS system. You will audit documents for accuracy, maintain accounts receivable, and assist with federal and state reporting, ensuring compliance with state accounting practices.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Finance or related field, or substantial substitute experience, and strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
• 0–1 year of progressive work experience in finance with accounting knowledge, or 3–4 years with substitution.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and auditing concepts.
• Ability to learn and apply Wyoming accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, review, approve and maintain accurate records of all department financial transactions.
• Audit documents for accuracy and ensure compliance with Wyoming accounting practices.
• Maintain accounts receivable and assist with revenue and expenditure reporting.
• Coordinate with staff, vendors, and agencies; manage WOLFS system entries.
