Job summary

The State of Wyoming seeks a lead Accounting Analyst to guide the DEQ's budgeting, grants management, and financial analysis. This role partners with the Comptroller and Accounting Manager to ensure GAAP/GASB compliance and robust fiscal forecasting for General Fund and federal programs.

Responsibilities include directing complex budgets, grant accounting, and system controls, while providing mentorship for analysts and ensuring accurate reporting across agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and GASB applications for governments.
  • Experience with government budgeting and grants management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and administration of major operating budgets, federal grant budgets, and fee-based program accounts.
  • Perform complex grant accounting with reporting, reimbursements, and audits.
  • Oversee fiscal year opening/closing procedures and related schedules.
  • Manage internal controls and documentation across multiple financial systems.
