Job summary

Bradford Systems Corporation in Elmhurst, IL seeks a full-time Accountant to join our hybrid team. You will handle day-to-day accounting, AP/AR, invoicing, and financial reporting, with involvement in month-end close and budgeting.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, has strong GAAP knowledge, experience with ERP systems and accounting software, and excels in Excel. Collaboration and data protection are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in corporate or small-to-medium-sized business accounting.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with tax and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and technologies and applying them to accounting workflows.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Role Description

Bradford Systems is seeking a full-time Accountant to join our team. This hybrid position supports the company’s day-to-day accounting and financial operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and expense tracking.
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reports.
• Reconciling bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborating with internal departments and responding to accounting and financial inquiries.
• Supporting external auditors and tax professionals as needed.
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency.
• Using AI and automation tools responsibly to streamline routine tasks, analyze financial information, and improve reporting while protecting confidential company data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in corporate or small-to-medium-sized business accounting.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with tax and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and technologies, with the ability to identify practical applications, improve workflows, and train others on effective use.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of AI tools and an understanding of how they can be applied to accounting, reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and workflow automation.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated information for accuracy and use these tools responsibly while maintaining data security and confidentiality.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Experience in the equipment, material-handling, storage-solutions, construction, or related industries is beneficial.
