Job summary

Northbound Executive Search is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join a growing finance team in New York. You will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities while collaborating with internal departments and external partners.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 2+ years of corporate accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, Excel proficiency, and experience with an ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting/finance.
• 2+ years corporate accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP understanding and analytical skills.
• Experience with month-end close and journal entries.
• Proficient Excel skills (PivotTables and lookup functions).
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Dynamics.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and accounting records.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and account schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support the preparation of audit materials and respond to accounting inquiries.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies while maintaining strong internal controls.
