Job summary

MSG Entertainment in New York is seeking a Staff Accountant to support Corporate Accounting with monthly close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations across cash, debt, and fixed assets. You will prepare company-wide expense allocations, issue monthly results reports, collaborate with internal and external auditors, and assist with quarterly tax deliverables.

The role requires a BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, 2+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in corporate controllership or accounting functions.
• Strong Excel skills and writing/communication abilities.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP preferred.
• Understanding of monthly close processes.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact with cross-functional groups.
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA completion or in progress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare monthly close deliverables including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for cash, debt, fixed assets and other operating expenses.
• Prepare company-wide expense allocations.
• Issue monthly results reports for various corporate departments.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors on requests.
• Prepare quarterly tax deliverables.
• Assist/recommend/improve reports and financial systems to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
• Support corporate accounting day-to-day activities and complete special projects as assigned.
• Liaise with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Treasury/Tax/External Reporting/FP&A to assist on cross-functional work products.
• Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members while on-site.
