We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping duties including data entry, journal entries, and maintaining general ledger accounts using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheets, and account balances regularly to ensure consistency and accuracy across all financial data.
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget analyses to support management decision-making.
- Handle payroll processing using systems like ADP, UltiPro, or Paychex while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including supporting audits and maintaining documentation for governmental reporting requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entry preparation with accuracy.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail for data entry and account management tasks.
- Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro along with payroll management best practices.
- Familiarity with auditing standards including SOX compliance and experience working within public accounting or non-profit organizations is a plus.
- Strong communication skills coupled with customer service orientation for collaborating across teams and supporting internal stakeholders effectively.
