Job summary

Campeón Gaming in Athens seeks a Mid-level Accountant to own core accounting processes and ensure data integrity. You will support the Accounting & Finance team and align with company policies.

You will manage month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, tax compliance, and liaise with auditors and authorities. The role offers a hybrid work model and modern offices in central Athens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 3–5 years in an accounting department with double-entry bookkeeping.
• Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems (Softone, SAP, Atlantis, SAP B1).
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger entries and month-end close.
• Perform bank, vendor, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Oversee AP/AR ledgers and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on accounting issues.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
• Support audits and liaison with tax authorities.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency.

As a Mid-level Accountant, you will play a key role in our Accounting & Finance team, taking ownership of core accounting processes and ensuring the integrity of our financial data. You will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Accounting department in alignment with the company's goals and policies

What You'll Be Working On:

• Financial Reporting & GL: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, overseeing general ledger entries, invoice posting, month-end closing procedures, and account analysis.
• Reconciliations: Perform and review monthly bank, vendor, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of complex financial transactions.
• AP & AR Management: Supervise the accounts payable/receivable ledgers, ensure accurate invoice verification, and oversee timely invoice posting.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a point of contact for internal and external parties regarding complex accounting issues & vendor enquires.
• Compliance & Tax: Ensure full compliance with finance-related policies, procedures, and tax regulations.
• Tax Returns: Prepare and submit direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT/ΦΠΑ).
• Audit & Authorities: Assist on the preparation for annual statutory audits and liaise confidently with Tax Authorities, auditors.
• Process Optimization: Proactively identify areas for improvement and drive efficiency in the accounting and reporting processes.
• Deadlines & Support: Ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are strictly met and perform other advanced accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in an accounting department, with deep knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, invoice posting, and end-to-end bank reconciliations.
• Tech Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas) and solid experience working with modern ERP systems (e.g., Softone, SAP, Atlantis, SAP Business One).
• Tax & Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of local tax compliance alongside solid knowledge of international tax regulations and accounting practices for foreign companies (entities abroad).
• Languages: Excellent command of English (both written and verbal).
• Soft Skills: Strong team spirit with a collaborative mindset, analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Resilience: Able to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
