Job summary

LHH in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy of timekeeping, deductions, and records.

You will partner with HR to maintain employee records, benefits, and payroll changes, and support month‑end close and audit processes with a focus on internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 3+ years of accounting and/or payroll accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and account reconciliations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with accounting or payroll software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time for multiple entities.
  • Review and validate timekeeping data, earnings, commissions, incentives, reimbursements, and payroll deductions.
  • Partner with HR to ensure employee records, benefits, and payroll changes are administered correctly.
  • Maintain payroll documentation and records for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Record payroll expenses, liabilities, and related journal entries.
  • Prepare payroll‑related financial reports and support intercompany allocations.
  • Track and reconcile benefit‑related payments, retirement plan contributions, and other payroll liabilities.
  • Assist with month‑end close activities related to payroll accounting.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile employee benefits, retirement plans, and other payroll‑related balances.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll‑related financial data across multiple entities.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Support external audits and payroll‑related reporting requirements.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation audits and payroll reporting requests.
  • Help maintain effective internal controls and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time for multiple entities.
