Job summary

Universal Health Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations in our Roanoke, VA office. You will handle payroll processing, AP/AR, and assist the Controller with month-end tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Minimum 1 year of payroll processing experience using ADP.
• Working knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Bill.com and QuickBooks Online preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll (including off-cycle payrolls) in coordination with HR
• Maintain accurate payroll, benefits, and compensation records in ADP
• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments
• Oversee accounts receivable processing and tracking
• Coordinate payroll garnishments and required deductions
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Prepare ad hoc reports and conduct expense research
• Maintain detailed and accurate financial records
• Support the Controller with additional accounting tasks as needed

Position Overview

The Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and biweekly payroll processing, while assisting the Controller with additional accounting functions as needed.
