Job description

We are a fast-growing aviation services company registered in Delaware, with operational offices in California, Pennsylvania and our parent company headquartered in the United Kingdom. Our mission is to deliver innovative, efficient, and reliable aviation solutions globally. As we continue to expand our presence in the U.S. market, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Accountant to own our financial operations start to finish and ensure seamless coordination with our UK-based finance team.

Reporting to our Finance Director based in the UK, the Accountant will take full ownership of U.S.-based financial operations, including general ledger management, wire payments, financial reporting, reconciliations using Xero, and end-to-end payroll processing through Paylocity. This is a sole-charge role: you will be the only finance presence on the ground in the U.S., so we need someone who can run the full cycle independently, from bookkeeping through close, reporting, and payroll compliance, without day-to-day supervision.

Duties

  • Own the end-to-end financial reporting cycle for U.S. operations in Xero, from transaction entry through month-end close.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis for submission to the Finance Director.
  • Consolidate financial data from multiple U.S. offices.
  • Support intercompany reporting and reconciliations with UK counterparts.
  • Process and track all wire payments (domestic and international), ensuring timely supplier payments.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Own U.S. payroll processing via Paylocity start to finish, including federal, state, and local compliance, tax filings, and year-end requirements (W-2s, etc.).
  • Maintain strong internal controls and prepare documentation for external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state tax regulations, including sales/use tax and employment taxes.
  • Assist in standardizing financial procedures across U.S. operations.
  • Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors, and banking partners as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting, with direct, hands-on ownership of full-cycle bookkeeping through close and reporting
  • Experience of start to finish payroll processing and compliance, ideally including multi-state or multi-jurisdiction filings
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
  • Experience working in Xero and Paylocity (or similar platforms)
  • Exposure to multi-currency transactions and reconciliations strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a cross-border team structure
