Job summary

Progressive is seeking an accounting financial reporting specialist in a hybrid role based in Mayfield Village, Ohio. You will perform GAAP and SEC financial reporting, prepare schedules for 8-Ks, 10-Qs and 10-Ks, and keep policies up to date.

The role requires strong communication, analytical capabilities and adherence to SOX controls. You will work on the GAAP Financial Reporting team and contribute to accurate, compliant financial reporting across the company with opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and at least 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with quarterly and year-end financial reporting preferred.

As an accounting financial reporting specialist on the GAAP Financial Reporting team, you’ll perform medium complexity GAAP and SEC financial reporting tasks. You’ll prepare and analyze financial statement schedules to support various SEC filings including 8-Ks, 10-Qs, and 10-Ks. You’ll monitor accounting and financial reporting changes from the FASB and SEC and maintain compliance with internal SOX controls. You’ll also ensure compliance for accurate financial reporting and update company accounting and reporting policies and procedures.

This is a hybrid role working out of our headquarters in Mayfield Village, Ohio.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance) and a minimum of 2 years of accounting work experience.

Preferred skills

• Experienced accountant with expertise in quarterly and year-end financial reporting.


• Strong background in GAAP accounting principles and SEC reporting requirements, and a consistent track record in delivering accurate and compliant financial reports.


• Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) and organizational skills (planning, time management, and priority management).


• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to identify and communicate accounting and financial reporting issues to management in a timely and concise manner.

Compensation

• $61,300 - $81,700/year depending on position level.


• Gainshare annual cash incentive program up to 24% of your eligible earnings, based on company performance.
