Job summary

Month2Month, Inc. in Irvine is seeking a full-time on-site Accountant to join our growing team. You will own AR and AP, send invoices through QuickBooks, and ensure POs sync to the accounting system. You will also prepare bank reconciliations and assist external audits while supporting financial process improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own AR and AP processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Issue invoices via QuickBooks and reconcile payments to invoices.
• Audit bookings and POs daily; ensure POs sync to QuickBooks.
• Handle daily AP: match expenses to bills, process deposits and owner payments, manage bank accounts online.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and payments (insurance, fees, rent, interest, loans).
• Prepare weekly AR aging and daily AP reports; ensure accurate income and liability accounts.
• Manage daily email communications and respond to queries.
• Support external audits and investor materials as needed.
• Support business analysis, reporting systems and process improvements.

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Accountant to join our team in Irvine.

What You'll Do

Accounting

• Own both AR and AP, applying professional judgment to the accuracy and reasonableness of each account
• Send customer invoices through QuickBooks, match received payments to outstanding invoices, and update the AR register daily
• Audit bookings and POs daily, ensuring POs sync correctly to QuickBooks
• Handle daily AP: match expenses to bills in QuickBooks, process deposit refunds and owner payments via CPX, and manage bank accounts online
• Complete monthly tasks including bank reconciliations and insurance, referral fee, rent, interest and loan payments, and ensure every bank account is sufficiently funded
• Prepare weekly AR Aging reports and daily AP reports
• Ensure accuracy of income and liability accounts
• Manage daily email communication and respond to queries
• Other ad hoc tasks as required

Business Analysis

• Build a deep understanding of the business and financial logic behind each department's key performance indicators
• Help establish a business analysis system and a management reporting system

Process & Workflow

• Improve business and financial workflows for efficiency
• Drive projects that align finance with the business and advance system development

Data Management

• Understand management requirements, system logic, processes, and how data is generated
• Organize base data, improve system data quality, and ensure financial data is accurate and effective

External Relations

• Prepare materials for external audits and investment partners

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong self-motivation and self-management; proactive and quick to learn
• Demonstrated analytical skills and sharp problem-solving and data-analysis instincts

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (US), ACCA (UK), or CGA (Canada)
• 3-5 years of experience at a "Big Four" accounting firm
