A leading flooring contractor in Farmers Branch seeks a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial operations. This role involves managing monthly closes, payroll, accounts payable, and ensuring job cost integrity. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Accounting and 5+ years of experience, with a preference for construction accounting expertise. The position is full-time on-site, offering stability and growth in a people-focused culture.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related operational finance roles.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries for job cost allocations and accruals.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank and credit card accounts.
  • Assist with annual and ad hoc audits, support 1099 preparation.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is essential in supporting the monthly close process, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payroll and accounts payable, and ensuring the integrity of job cost accounting across the company. The ideal candidate will bring accounting experience in the construction industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

What You'll Do
General Ledger & Fixed Assets
  • Prepare and record recurring and nonrecurring journal entries, including job cost allocations and accruals.
  • Assist with reconciling job pay applications to billings recorded in the accounting system.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Payroll & AP Support
  • Record payroll journal entries and maintain payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Serve as backup for payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now when needed.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable data entry and coding.
Monthly Close & Reconciliations
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit card accounts, and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized support for audit readiness.
Cash & Payment Processing
  • Initiate and process ACH payments in accordance with internal controls and approval workflows.
  • Assist with cash tracking and reporting as needed.
Compliance & Project Support
  • Assist with annual and ad hoc audits (financial, insurance, workers comp, etc.).
  • Support annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
  • Contribute to special projects that enhance accounting processes, reporting, or system improvements.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related operational finance roles.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Hours & Location Requirements
  • This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Dallas, TX (75244) location.
  • The standard schedule is Monday – Friday.
