Job summary

Rangeline Group seeks a Staff Accountant in Fort Worth, TX to handle full-cycle accounting for an assigned division. You will ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and solid job cost tracking in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

The role supports project managers and operations with financial insight, controls, and cross-functional collaboration. A BA/BS in accounting plus 3–5 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience; construction or project-based accounting strongly preferred.
• 1-2 years of job cost accounting systems experience (Sage Intacct preferred).
• Strong GAAP understanding and month-end close experience.
• Experience with construction billing methods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for the assigned division.
• Reconcile bank accounts, inventory and other balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor job costs, labor, equipment usage, subcontractor invoices, and material charges.
• Review and validate project billings focusing on time and materials.
• Track project costs against quotes for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare monthly divisional financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
• Track KPIs and operational metrics relevant to the division.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Serve as primary accounting contact for the division and support field management.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable related to the assigned division.
• Reconcile bank accounts, inventory and various other balance sheet accounts.

Project Accounting & Job Costing

• Monitor job costs, labor, equipment usage, subcontractor invoices, and material charges.
• Review and validate project billings, with a focus on time and materials.
• Monitor project costs to job quotes to monitor for completeness and accuracy.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly divisional financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.
• Track KPIs and operational metrics relevant to the division.

Compliance, Controls & Audit Support

• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.

Cross-Functional Support

• Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for the assigned division.
• Provide financial support and guidance to field management, operations, and administrative staff.
• Contribute to process improvements and technology upgrades to drive efficiency.
