Job summary

Senior Accountant position in Boca Raton, FL. The role focuses on month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and broader accounting operations within a growing national provider of commercial restoration, reconstruction, and related services.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller in a non-supervisory capacity and collaborate with Operations, HR and other stakeholders while upholding GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Progressive accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end close journal entries.
• Post and reconcile cash receipts.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Review general and subsidiary ledger balances for GAAP compliance.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and related reporting.
• Prepare financial statement packages and supporting schedules.

• Provide ad hoc financial analyses.

Job Details

Our client is a growing national provider of commercial restoration, reconstruction, renovation, roofing and capital-improvement services. The organization works with commercial property owners and operators across healthcare, senior living, hospitality, multifamily, institutional, office and other commercial markets.

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting team and report directly to the Corporate Controller. This is a non-supervisory role offering the opportunity to play an important part in the company's month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and broader accounting operations.

What You'll Do

• Prepare month-end close journal entries
• Post and reconcile cash receipts
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
• Review general and subsidiary ledger balances for accuracy and GAAP compliance
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger and related financial reporting
• Prepare financial statement packages and supporting schedules
• Assist with annual audit and tax-compliance requests
• Support lease accounting activities in accordance with ASC 842
• Prepare ad hoc financial and accounting analyses
• Assist with special accounting projects and implementation of new accounting guidance
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures
• Partner with Operations, HR and other internal stakeholders on accounting-related matters
• Perform additional accounting responsibilities as needed

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• + progressive accounting/finance experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
• Experience working with a general ledger/ERP system
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader team

• Construction or related industry experience
• Acumatica or another construction ERP
