Job summary

Barchart is seeking a staff accountant to join its Finance team in Chicago. You will support invoicing, collections, and responding to customer inquiries about invoices and payments, while also assisting in general ledger work and reconciliations.

You will collaborate with the CFO, COO and two other finance teammates on financial statements, KPIs, and HR-related projects, growing with the organization over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Attention to detail with timely, accurate output.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong organizational skills and prioritization.
• Must be able to come to the Chicago office on most Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Open to recent graduates or experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Handle invoicing and collections.
• Respond to customer inquiries about invoices and payments.
• Assist in general ledger accounting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and review KPIs.
• Support Accounting and HR projects as needed.
• Collaborate with CFO, COO and finance team.

Role Description Barchart is seeking a staff accountant to join its Finance team. This person will support day‑to‑day accounting functions primarily associated with invoicing, collections, and

responding to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments. Other duties include assisting in general ledger accounting, bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations, financial statement preparation and review, preparing and reviewing KPIs, and other Accounting and Human Resource projects as they arise. You will work closely with the CFO, the COO and two other finance team members.

• Exceptional Customer Service skills
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt and prioritize
