Job summary

Mb Staffing Services LLC is seeking an Accountant to join our finance team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on general accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, and billing in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare financial statements, perform reconciliations, assist with month-end close, and ensure accurate invoicing and timely cash flow. A strong Excel and ERP background, along with communication skills, is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Strong general ledger, AR, invoicing, payroll, and reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP software experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, records and reports.
• Perform reconciliations and prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Process payroll and payroll tax reporting.
• Manage Accounts Receivable, invoicing, collections and payment applications.
• Generate accurate client invoices and ensure timely billing.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices to improve cash flow.
• Assist with Accounts Payable and related tasks as needed.
• Analyze budgets and costs to identify process improvements and controls.
• Support internal and external audits and GAAP compliance.

This role is ideal for someone with strong general accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, and billing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, accounting records, and management reports.
• Perform account reconciliations and prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and assist with payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, and payroll tax reporting.
• Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, billing, payment application, account reconciliations, collections follow-up, and resolution of outstanding balances.
• Generate accurate client invoices and ensure timely billing in accordance with contract terms.
• Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up with clients regarding outstanding invoices to improve cash flow.
• Process invoices and support Accounts Payable activities as needed.
• Analyze budgets, costs, and financial trends while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, billing, collections follow-up, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; ERP/accounting software experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
