Job summary

Century Group is partnering with a client seeking an Accountant to join their team in California. The role centers on payroll processing, timekeeping review, and accurate accounting entries to support monthly close and audits.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years of accounting and payroll experience, and proficiency with spreadsheets and payroll systems. Payroll certification is preferred, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time while reviewing supporting records and employee data for completeness.
• Review timekeeping records each pay period and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing.
• Partner with internal departments to ensure payroll information is accurate and properly maintained.
• Prepare accounting entries, operational reports, and financial analyses as needed.
• Provide support for accounts payable, cash receipt activities, audits, and other accounting functions.

Requirements

• Strong ability to analyze payroll, accounting, and timekeeping information and resolve issues independently.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees and management.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
