Job summary

Sayva Solutions, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join its close-knit accounting team in Orange County, CA. You will manage day-to-day accounting functions including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and financial reporting while contributing to process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems. CPA or public accounting exposure is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years hands-on accounting experience including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and GL activities.
• Working knowledge of accrual-based accounting and GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; Dynamics GP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounts receivable activities (cash applications, customer payments, collections).
• Oversee accounts payable processes (invoice entry, coding, vendor management, payments).
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support general ledger activities (accruals, prepaid expenses, journal entries, month-end).
• Prepare recurring financial and operational reports.
• Maintain inventory accounting records and cost tracking; assist tax reporting.
• Coordinate with external accounting professionals for audits and reporting requests.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve workflows.
• Assist with additional admin and system enhancement tasks as needed.

This individual will oversee a variety of day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice entry, expense coding, vendor account management, and preparation of electronic and check payments.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Support general ledger accounting activities, including accruals, prepaid expenses, journal entries, and month‑end accounting procedures.
• Prepare recurring financial and operational reports
• Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and assist with cost tracking, reconciliations, and periodic tax reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with external accounting professionals and financial institutions to provide documentation for audits and reporting requests.
• Partner with internal teams to support accounting‑related operational activities and ensure accurate transaction processing.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve overall process efficiency.
• Assist with additional administrative and operational responsibilities as needed, with potential involvement in future accounting system enhancements.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on accounting experience, ideally encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Working knowledge of accrual‑based accounting principles and general familiarity with GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or similar accounting platforms is a plus.
• Previous experience in distribution, manufacturing, inventory accounting, or another operationally focused industry is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage competing priorities.
• Resourceful and proactive approach to problem‑solving, with an interest in learning new processes and improving existing workflows.
• Ability to thrive in a smaller, team‑oriented environment and willingness to contribute beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.
• Exposure to financial reporting enhancements, process automation, or ERP implementations is a plus.
• CPA designation or previous public accounting experience is a plus but not required.
