Qualifications

• Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager level experience.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting and financial close processes.
• CPA considered highly favorable; Big Four background a plus.
• Experience in biotech/pharma, manufacturing, or cost accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day general accounting support.

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an innovative, clinical-stage biotechnology organization seeking a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to provide interim accounting support. This engagement offers the opportunity to join a collaborative finance team supporting a company developing cutting-edge therapies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Duration: Approximately 3-4 months

Location: Hybrid - San Diego, CA

Compensation: Senior Accountant: $55-$70/hour | Accounting Manager: $70-$90/hour

Please note these ranges are estimates, and actual pay may vary based on qualifications, experience, and the level at which the consultant is engaged.

Scope

• Provide day-to-day general accounting support
• Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial results and resolve accounting variances
• Maintain continuity across accounting processes and reporting deadlines
• Partner with the accounting team to ensure deliverables remain on track
• Support a variety of accounting functions based on business priorities and individual expertise
• Assist with audit support, special accounting projects, and operational initiatives as needed
• Collaborate with finance leadership to address evolving business needs in a dynamic environment

Qualifications & Expertise

• Experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager
• Strong foundation in general accounting principles and financial close processes
• Ability to work independently while managing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly preferred
• CPA and/or Big Four public accounting experience is a plus
• Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or cost accounting experience is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
