Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator in Atlanta to coordinate and execute shipments, delivering excellent service. You will maintain proactive communication with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and vendors to keep operations running smoothly and on schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 3 years in goods import, knowledge of ocean freight, and familiarity with government agency requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the importation of goods.
• Knowledge of the movement of freight via ocean.
• Knowledge of Government Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute shipments to ensure excellent customer service levels.
• Maintain communication with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and vendors.
• Handle accounting processes including price negotiations, on-time billing, rate calculations, price conversions, and profit and loss analysis.

Your role on the team:

• Coordinating and executing shipments to ensure excellent customer service levels

• Handles accounting processes; including price negotiations, on-time billing, zero demurrage mindset, rate calculations, price conversions, profitand loss analysis

What you need:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the importation of goods or an equivalent combination of both education and experience
• Knowledge of the movement of freight via ocean
• Knowledge of Government Agency requirements
• Ability to occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds
