Job Description

Job Family Definition: Manages one or several larger accounts or acts as the account lead for a substantial part of a top account. Understands the customer’s IT and business objectives, priorities, requirements, and challenges, and adds value by implementing HPE’s strategy. Drives business performance for all HPE BUs and manages the portfolio mix to optimize profitability of the account. Accountable for pipeline building; supportive in deal closing and orchestrating the deal team. Builds and develops relevant customer relationship networks with key influencers and decision makers in IT and business. Develops and engages with the extended partner ecosystem to maximize HPE’s presence in the account. Constantly develops industry knowledge to position HPE’s portfolio effectively. Orchestrates, guides, and provides feedback to the extended account team. Acts as customer’s advocate inside HPE. Plans for accounts to deliver results through the financial year and beyond.

Acts as a functional manager but does not manage other employees as a primary role.

Responsibilities
  • Articulates the connection between customer KPIs, business priorities, and IT solutions, influencing decision-makers including C-level executives.
  • Builds and executes a plan to drive growth and profitability across HPE's portfolio, leveraging programs and tools to improve performance.
  • Engages with customers to identify opportunities, translating business challenges into IT opportunities, and leads pipeline and deal closure activities.
  • Maintains professional relationships within the customer to maximize efficiency, building influential relationships with executives.
  • Develops and maintains partner relationships, actively managing the partner network for the account.
  • Develops expertise in IT technology and industry trends, engaging with customer CTO/CIOs and mentoring others.
  • Builds and leads the extended account team, providing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Provides feedback to other HPE organizations to enhance customer experience, utilizing all available tools and resources.
  • Owns the development and execution of a comprehensive account business plan, aligning with stakeholders.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 8+ years of account management experience.
  • Experience in the IT industry, with a background as an IT leader or within customer organizations preferred.
  • Experience in vertical industry (SLED) preferred.
  • Strong track record in account management and sales performance.
  • Experience selling complex technology solutions.

  • Efficient in sales execution and building professional relationships.

  • Manages 1 to many accounts with moderate to high revenue, including large or global accounts.

  • Participates in investment decisions regarding pricing and resources.

USD $210,500 - $495,000 annually, with actual offers varying based on location, experience, and other factors.
