Job summary

Nexus Power in Portland, OR seeks an Account Manager to cover OEMs for our growing electrical manufacturer's representative agency. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating customer needs into technical and commercial guidance, and drive growth with disciplined account management.

The role requires self-direction, strong communication, and the ability to travel to account locations. Experience in electrical components and willingness to learn rapidly are valued.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with assigned OEMs at all levels of their organizations.
  • Communicate and report sales progress/status versus yearly and quarterly order expectations to interested parties.
  • Conduct technical presentations to customer engineering, procurement, or sales team to influence specifications.
  • Provide training, joint sales calls and applications support.
  • Travel to and visit account locations to foster customer relationships.

Job description

Nexus Power seeks an Account Manager covering OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for our growing electrical manufacturer's representative agency. The position requires a strong, independent, customer focused sales representative, with the ability to listen to and portray customer needs, provide technical/commercial guidance, and is efficient with detailed communication.

  • Motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to create and manage key relationships throughout the customer organization
  • Ability to create and manage vendor relationships
  • Proficiency to multi-task and prioritize
  • Identify and execute a growth strategy within product segments and vertical markets
  • Technical understanding of electrical distribution products and how they integrate into our customer's product(s).
  • Strong teamwork skills
Responsibilities Will Include, But Not Limited To:
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with assigned Original Equipment manufacturers (OEM's) at all levels of their organizations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical industry experience and knowledge
  • Prior sales experience, account management, sales management and demonstrated market growth
  • Solid understanding of profitability and other financial measurements
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
  • Excels at negotiating, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and working under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
