Job summary

UFP Industries, based in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Account Manager to foster strong relationships with key clients and drive sales within the assigned territory. You will act as the primary contact, understand customer needs, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver products that meet industry standards.

The role requires a self-motivated, professional salesperson with strong communication skills and a strategic sales mindset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in customer service.
  • Working experience in sales, preferably with product, industry, and market knowledge.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications of products and communicate their benefits effectively to customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic accounting and business concepts.
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking.

Job Summary

As an Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with key clients and driving sales within your assigned territory. You’ll work with a diverse range of customers, offering high-quality products that meet the toughest industry standards. A successful Account Manager is a professional salesperson who is self‑motivated, passionate about building lasting relationships, and possesses a strategic sales drive.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
Active Selling
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and prospect new business opportunities in your territory.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and recommend the most suitable products for their projects.
  • Act as the key customer contact, identifying needs, managing expectations and resolving issues through proactive communication.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by providing timely responses, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Understand the market and keep customers informed.
  • Own the customer relationship.
  • Solicit sales opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Introduce new programs to customers.
  • Close on sale opportunities.
  • Manage leads and customers in the Company’s CRM management system.
  • Manage aged inventory and accounts receivable.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with the latest product offerings, treatment technologies, and industry trends to position UFP as the go‑to choice.
  • Work closely with the internal team to coordinate orders, deliveries, and resolve any product‑related concerns.
Strategic
  • Develop programs based on customer needs
    • Create ongoing and growing business.
  • Develop a plan for the business
    • Focus on targets and updates through CRM management.
  • Focus on meeting business plans.
  • Conduct customer business reviews.
  • Introduce new product expansion/market.
  • Prepare various reports and correspondence as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Training
  • Generate sales based on company standards and expectations.
  • Negotiate with customers to grow sales.
  • Understand the importance of gross margin and the company’s collection process.

Salary Pay Range

$75,000 annually dependent on experience. Pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living.

Bonus/Incentive Pay

Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
