Reports To

Region Sales Manager - Eastern USA

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact between assigned accounts and ABB Process Automation - Energy Industries (PAEN). Your accounts will include customers and prospects from the Power, Water, Chemicals, Refining, Oil & Gas, and Pharmaceutical markets. You will drive sales activities related to ABB's Automation, Electrical, Digital, and Services Business lines, engaging with decision makers across various levels and organizations.

The Regional Account Manager is responsible for selling to existing and new customers, growing the installed base through prospecting for conversion or greenfield opportunities, and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.

The work model for this role is: #LI - Remote. You will contribute to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division for the East Coast region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Meet or exceed sales goals, maintain accurate forecasts and customer reports.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with engineering, maintenance, operations, and senior management, understanding their business objectives and promoting ABB solutions.
  • Sales Operating System Execution: Implement the US Sales Operating System, including creating and executing Territory and Account Plans, maintaining forecasts, and reporting within SFDC.
  • Strategic Sales Pursuits: Develop capture strategies, support proposal development, and collaborate with other ABB units to uncover broader offerings.
  • Customer Advocacy and Marketing: Act as the primary advocate for customers, ensuring high satisfaction and loyalty, and contribute to branding and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in direct sales to end customers, or 2+ years with ABB, totaling 8 years in sales, related experience, or education.
  • Understanding of control systems, automation, digital process optimization, and customer needs from a control systems vendor.
  • Experience with DCS or high-end distributed PLC/HMI sales or service.
  • Industry experience in Power Generation, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, or EPCs.
  • Willingness to travel over 60% of the time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
