THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Regional Account Manager (RAM) will oversee and directly manage key regional accounts (Grocery, Club, Mass, Speciality, etc), supporting all aspects of the sales cycle, including management of existing accounts, brokers, and distributor relationships in partnership with the Regional Field Sales Manager and Field Sales Team. A proactive approach to all aspects of customer, broker, and distributor management is a must!

You'll be working with a highly driven and supportive team that loves tackling new challenges and working towards big achievements together.

This is an individual contributor role and reports to a Senior Director, Sales - National Accounts. The role is remote, but living close to a major airport is required due to travel demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build and manage relationships with national & regional accounts including grocery, mass, natural, club, and specialty chain accounts
  • Develop and implement account strategies to expand distribution, increase SKU availability, and execute promotional & display plans to meet brand, volume, and KPI objectives
  • Manage trade spend to meet financial goals with customers and brokers
  • Manage broker relationships, communication, and follow-up
  • Analyze data and develop presentations to increase feature and display activity, expand distribution, optimize shelf position, and grow market share
  • Execute customer development strategies proactively as directed by the SVP, Sales - Retail
  • Communicate regularly about account progress, pricing, promotions, displays, resets, and setbacks to relevant teams
  • Collaborate with the field sales team to establish execution standards and expectations for key selling and display events
  • Utilize category management expertise to maximize distribution, shelf presence, and promotional impact
  • Maintain and analyze distributor and market data, including SPINS/IRI reports, and prepare management reports
  • Monitor competitive activity in the assigned territory
  • Spend approximately 80% of time selling and managing customer relationships, and 20% in retail accounts with the team to share best practices and identify opportunities
  • Travel as needed to meet with customers, brokers, and distributors, utilizing various transportation modes

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Four-year college degree or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of proven sales experience in account management with key retail accounts
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience across key retail channels: Grocery, Club, Mass, Natural/Specialty
  • Experience with large and small brands
  • Trade management skills
  • Proficiency in PPT, Excel, Google Docs, etc.
  • Experience with multiple route-to-market models: DSD, Broadliners, Direct, etc.
  • Retail promotional planning experience
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Sense of urgency and positive attitude

  • Base salary $100,000-$120,000, depending on experience and location
