Job summary

Vantage Logistics is seeking an entry-level trainee to learn the freight brokerage business from the ground up. You will start with operational tasks, carrier communication, and shipment tracking while you grow toward account management and sales responsibilities.

You will be trained on McLeod TMS and internal workflows, gaining practical experience in pricing, research, and customer follow-up. This on-site role offers a structured career path and mentorship from leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Customer service, sales, hospitality, athletics, retail, leadership, or internship experience preferred.
  • No freight brokerage experience required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through required.
  • Must be comfortable working full-time, 100% on-site.
  • Must be able to commute to the assigned office location.

Responsibilities

  • Learn how freight moves from pickup through delivery.
  • Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams by phone and email.
  • Track shipments and provide real-time updates.
  • Use McLeod and internal systems to update load information accurately.
  • Support Account Managers with scheduling, negotiations, issue resolution, documents, and customer requirements.
  • Build relationships with carrier partners.
  • Learn freight pricing, market trends, customer communication, and sales fundamentals.
  • Prepare to transition into an Account Manager role based on performance and readiness.

Overview

Vantage Logistics is looking for competitive, coachable, and driven people who want to build a long-term career in logistics, sales, and account management. This is a structured development role designed to teach you the freight brokerage business from the ground up before moving into customer management and sales responsibility.

You will begin by learning the operational side of the business: carrier communication, shipment tracking, load coverage, appointment scheduling, documentation, and problem-solving. As you develop, you will receive coaching toward account management, customer communication, pricing, relationship growth, and sales.

Technology and Training

You will be trained on the systems and tools used in modern freight brokerage, including McLeod TMS, customer and carrier communication tools, freight market resources, and internal AI-assisted workflows. These tools are used to support research, documentation, customer follow-up, reporting, and decision-making while you learn the fundamentals of the business.
