Job summary

Express Logistics, Inc. in Des Moines, IA, seeks an experienced account manager to serve as the main contact for a book of shipper accounts, quote and book freight, and grow the business by expanding lanes and volumes.

You will work closely with carriers to cover loads, maintain pricing discipline, and provide proactive shipment updates. Strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced 3PL environment are essential; a High School Diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of account management, customer service or sales experience in freight brokerage, 3PL or transportation.
• Strong understanding of truckload and LTL freight, pricing and the load lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Be the main contact for assigned shipper accounts.
• Quote and book freight, and build pricing that wins loads while protecting margin.
• Grow existing accounts by adding lanes, modes and volume.
• Coordinate with Carrier Reps to cover loads and maintain service.
• Proactively communicate shipment status, delays and exceptions to customers.
• Resolve service issues, claims and billing questions quickly and professionally.
• Hold regular business reviews with key accounts on volume, service and pricing.
• Maintain accurate account notes and load details in CRM and TMS.

Day in The Life

• Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned book of shipper accounts.
• Quote and book freight, and build pricing that wins loads while protecting margin.
• Grow existing accounts by adding lanes, modes and volume.

• Keep accurate account notes and load details in our CRM and TMS.

Requirements

Education/Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of account management, customer service or sales experience in freight brokerage, 3PL or transportation.
• Strong understanding of truckload and LTL freight, pricing and the load lifecycle.

Physical Expectations
