Account Manager
Location: Columbia, SC
Responsibilities
- Manage the sales process and drive profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory to both existing and new customers.
- Develop and implement sales plans utilizing company sales initiatives and guidelines to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts.
- Qualify and connect with sales leads.
- Nurture customer relationships by developing a thorough understanding of the customer's business and establishing a consultative relationship.
- Prepare sales proposals, quote pricing, establish credit terms, and estimate delivery dates based on knowledge of production/delivery schedules and logistics.
- Keep current with industry insights, product mixes, and market trends, gathering marketplace intelligence on pricing, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Collaborate with internal resources to accomplish success milestones, establishing and maintaining clear communication with internal departments regarding customer successes and opportunities.
- Maintain and submit sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly & annual territory analyses) as requested by District Manager through SAP.
- Actively review and manage existing customer Accounts Receivable balances to protect working capital and support the reduction of financial risk.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in outside B2B sales, demonstrating effectiveness in solution‑selling concepts and experience supporting customers within an assigned customer community.
- Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, or background in industrial gas/welding supply sales, considered a valuable addition.
