Summary/Purpose of the Position:
TestEquity is seeking an Account Manager to develop new business, stimulate sales growth of existing and new accounts, manage all regional leads, onboard new customers, and sell the entire range of products and services. This role is responsible for driving profitable sales growth through retention and expansion of revenue with current customers and acquiring new ones within their territory. Account Managers are expected to build, identify, and implement strategies that enable growth, as well as provide value, solutions, and technical support for their customers.
*Ideal candidates will reside in or around Cleveland, OH, but we are open to candidates in surrounding cities. You will be required to visit customers in person throughout the year.
Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Qualify new sales leads
- Build relationships within contact base and professionally represent the company's brands
- Drive customer growth by partnering to meet their needs and requirements
- Demonstrate products effectively to customers
- Coordinate order management activities: order entry, contract review, on-time delivery, inventory, special handling, product specifications, returns, etc.
- Engage in re-activation campaigns to re-engage dormant accounts
- Collaborate internally and externally to identify emerging customer needs, cost savings, threats, and revenue opportunities
- Develop and monitor sales plans to meet annual account goals
- Continue education on products and work to become a technical resource for customers
- Call on vendor partners as needed to enhance solution selling
- Operate effectively in a team selling environment
- Maintain a robust opportunity funnel for the territory
- Understand industry trends affecting customers and develop strategic initiatives accordingly
- Establish and maintain good relationships with customers and teams
- Focus on customer satisfaction, resolve issues promptly, and achieve project goals
- Expand products and technical knowledge to support customers
- Follow up on quotes and inquiries in a timely manner
- Monitor KPIs and work with cross-functional teams to address gaps
- Schedule in-person visits as needed
- Record all customer and sales activities in CRM for a 360-degree view
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred
- 2+ years of industrial sales experience preferred
- 2 years of electronics distribution experience preferred
- Familiarity with CRM
- Experience managing sales pipeline/funnel is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently
- Regular travel to customer sites required
- Work predominantly outside the home office
- Attend various business meetings as needed
- Strong discipline, effort, and commitment to meet sales goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal, time management, and presentation skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively, meeting productivity standards
- Maintain regular and timely attendance
