Strategic Account Manager - Remote
Position Summary:
ADM is seeking a talented and competitive Account Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, complex sales environment with a high drive to excel. The candidate should meet the following qualifications:
Position Responsibilities:
- Sell food flavorings, ingredients, and solutions from the ADM Nutrition portfolio to North American customers, focusing on business-to-business sales for savory and sweet goods, dairy foods, wellness products, and beverages.
- Build new business, grow sales with existing customers, and maintain their base year over year.
- Collaborate with customers on product development, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives to drive growth.
- Work with cross-functional teams in technical, marketing, financial, regulatory, and leadership roles.
- Define technical support needed to meet customer demands and execute projects with flavor, color, and ingredient development teams.
- Manage customer pipeline and opportunities using CRM systems like Salesforce.
- Coordinate with regulatory and scientific teams to ensure solutions meet claims and product positioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and manage new sales opportunities through inbound and outbound efforts, promoting the entire ADM Nutrition portfolio.
- Prepare account plans and execute sales strategies effectively.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through constant contact.
- Develop rapport with cross-functional teams including CD&D, Regulatory, Customer Service, Procurement, and Legal.
- Manage customer relationships, sample and opportunity entry, project management, and follow-up.
- Implement proactive call schedules to enhance customer engagement.
- Utilize web-based reporting tools to improve sales effectiveness; keep accurate records of quotes, sales, and activities.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all nutrition ingredients.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5-7 years of account management experience in the flavor/ingredient industry preferred.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com.
- Strong organizational, time management, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel within North America up to 50%.
