Account Executive – Texas (Dallas Area)

Location: The ideal candidate will reside in the Dallas area.

Job Overview:

Lexia, a division of Cambium Learning Group Inc., has created innovative solutions for over 40 years. We are seeking a new Account Executive to manage part of our Texas territory, providing preK-12 schools and districts with online learning software, professional development, and implementation services that promote literacy for all students.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop meaningful relationships with educational decision-makers.
  • Manage and execute a territory plan to meet sales goals and strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a geographical territory to achieve sales goals through a complex sales process.
  • Deliver presentations to stakeholders in person and via webinars, effectively communicating our pedagogy, research, features, and benefits.
  • Identify and engage high-potential accounts proactively.
  • Create professional proposals and communications to introduce Lexia.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic plans for medium to large districts.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity logs in CRM (Salesforce) and other tools.
  • Provide market feedback, forecasts, and competitive insights to management.
  • Build lasting relationships with stakeholders to develop a future pipeline.
  • Prepare targeted campaigns to identify prospects.
  • Analyze territory data and market trends to inform strategic planning.
  • Operate in a consultative, collaborative manner to foster growth.
  • Utilize virtual tools to maintain high productivity levels.
  • Partner with sales leadership to refine engagement methods.
  • Travel 50% of the time

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of successful business development, sales, and account management in pre-K-12 education preferred.
  • Experience selling or working with literacy/reading technology products preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas territory and existing contacts in K-12 education.
  • Proven ability to identify client needs, propose solutions, and close business.
  • Track record of meeting sales goals and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Proficient in CRM (Salesforce), MS Office, Google Suites, and virtual conferencing tools.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both in person and via video conferencing.
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate on strategies to achieve revenue goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays.
  • Works well in a team environment.
