William H. Sadlier, Inc. is seeking an Account Executive for the K-12 educational marketplace to drive sales growth in NY and NJ public schools.

You will build relationships, solve customer challenges, and secure new business for our textbook and digital offerings. You will lead the sales process from prospecting to close, manage renewals, and work with district stakeholders to align products with curriculum needs.

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 2+ years of quota-bearing enterprise sales experience, preferably in the education market.
  • Strong technology background and aptitude to sell and support digital and blended print/digital products.

Responsibilities

  • Meet territory sales quota each year.
  • Create strategic plans for the territory and identify opportunities.
  • Prepare quotes for current and prospective customers.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from qualifying leads through close.
  • Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and new customers.
  • Demonstrate products and assist customers in selecting the best solutions.
  • Service renewals and develop new accounts through strong relationships.
  • Make calls, visits, and presentations to customers on all product lines.
  • Enter and maintain customer data in the CRM.
  • Update management with reports on customer needs and market trends.
  • Travel within the territory as needed and comply with policies.

Account Executive for K-12 Educational Marketplace

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic sales professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and enhancing account penetration within the NY and NJ area for public schools. Your key responsibilities will include building strong customer relationships, effectively solving challenges, and securing new clients for our diverse range of educational textbooks and digital products.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Meet territory sales quota each year
  • Create strategic plans for the territory that identify and develop sales opportunities
  • Prepare quotes for current and prospective customers
  • Manage assigned sales area holistically with ownership over the entire sales cycle from qualifying leads through close
  • Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach
  • Demonstrate print and digital products and services to both existing and potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs
  • Service and obtain renewals on existing accounts, establish new accounts by developing positive, influential relationships with key stakeholders (Curriculum Directors, Coaches, Principals and Superintendents) across assigned area
  • Make telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers on all product lines
  • Accurately enter and maintain all customer and sales data in the Company’s CRM
  • Regularly update management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and delivery schedules
  • Research changes in legislation in assigned area and trends in the local school districts and communicate back as appropriate to enhance our products and increase our competitive sales advantage
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies, as appropriate
  • Participate in conventions, exhibits and sales meetings as requested by the Company
  • Travel by vehicle (might be Company-provided) through assigned sales area, which may require overnight stays as appropriate
  • Understand and comply with all Company policies, including T&E Policy
Education, Experience, Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
  • Classroom teaching and K-12 Leadership and or District Level Leadership Experience preferred
  • 2+ years of quota-bearing enterprise sales experience preferably in the education market preferred
  • Strong technology background and aptitude required to sell and support a major growth area of the company, digital stand alone as well as blended print and digital products
  • Must be result-oriented and able to work independently
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and customer relationship management software
  • Must demonstrate the following competencies: Customer Service, Meeting Sales Goals, Closing Skills, Territory Management, Prospecting Skills, Negotiation, Self-Confidence, Product Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Client Relationships, Motivation for Sales, Problem Solving and Consultative Sales Approach
