Job summary

Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority (LCWSA) is seeking an Account Collections Specialist for an in-person, full-time, benefits-eligible role within the Administration team. The position supports accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting while ensuring accurate customer account processing.

The ideal candidate has an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, with preference for experience in delinquent collections within municipal or utility

Responsibilities

• Support administration in accounting and customer accounts: accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Review and analyze customer accounts, monitor collections, manage delinquent accounts and payment arrangements.
• Coordinate water service shutoffs and process magisterial claims and municipal actions.

Account Collections Specialist

Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority (LCWSA), a local provider of water, wastewater, and stormwater services, is seeking applications for an in-person, full-time, benefits-eligible Account Collections Specialist.

The Account Collections Specialist supports the administration team in a variety of accounting and customer account functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting. The position also reviews and analyzes customer accounts, monitors collection activity, manages delinquent accounts and payment arrangements, coordinates water service shutoffs, and processes magisterial claims and municipal actions.

Candidates must have an associate or bachelors degree in accounting, business, or a related field. Experience with delinquent account collections, particularly in a municipal or utility environment, is preferred. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, proficient in Microsoft Office, comfortable learning and working with accounting software, and experienced in customer service. Professionalism, a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and sound judgment are essential.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening. A valid drivers license is required.
