Job summary

Jimbo's Club in New York is seeking an Accommodations Clerk to greet guests in our on-site hotel-style rooms and cabins, handle check-ins, collect waivers and payments, and provide a smooth, welcoming experience.

The role is event-based with shifts Thu-Sun, afternoons/evenings, and occasional winter restaurant-related shifts; prior hospitality experience is helpful but training is provided.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience is preferred, but training is available.
  • Friendly and professional with strong communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Comfortable handling cash, credit cards, and guest payment information.
  • Comfortable using or learning Excel, POS software; training provided.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event days.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and provide room assignments and check-in information

  • Issue receipts and correct change
  • Explain the property layout, amenities, and local recommendations
  • Answer guest questions by phone, text, email, or in person
  • Monitor arrivals and departures to ensure rooms are guest-ready
  • Communicate guest requests or concerns to the appropriate department
  • Prepare and distribute welcome packets, lodging materials, and signage
  • Perform other duties as requested by management to support operations

Accommodations Clerk

Reports to: Event Manager


Job Summary: The Accommodations Clerk is the first point of contact for guests staying in our on-site hotel-style rooms and cabins. This position is responsible for greeting guests, collecting waivers and payments, and providing a smooth, welcoming check-in experience. The role combines hospitality, organization, payment handling, and guest communication.


This is a flexible, event-based position, with scheduling driven by our event calendar rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Most shifts take place during afternoon, evening, and late-night hours, primarily Thursday through Sunday. Banquet business peaks during April–May and September–November.


We do not host banquet events during June–August due to summer camp operations, but other seasonal opportunities may be available. Additional shifts may also be offered through our fine-dining restaurant and bar during the winter.


Key Responsibilities


  • Greet guests and provide room assignments and check-in information

  • Collect required waivers and payments during check-in

  • Process cash and credit card payments through the point-of-sale system

Physical Requirements


  • Able to walk around the property and assist guests as needed

  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, phones, and point-of-sale equipment

  • Able to carry items such as linens, welcome bags, or signage weighing up to 25 pounds
