Job summary

Wausau Tile is seeking a mechanically inclined general labor associate to set up, adjust, and operate production equipment for terrazzo tile manufacturing. You will monitor processes to maintain safety, quality, and productivity, and read blueprints and paperwork to meet job specs.

Training includes forklift operation and routine maintenance tasks. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined with ability to set up, adjust and operate production equipment.
  • Able to read blueprints, specification sheets, and production paperwork.
  • Capable of using measuring tools and hand tools.
  • Willingness to cross-train for backup in other positions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up saws to cut products to size and piece count for each job.
  • Set up and operate the Bullnose and Bevel machines.
  • Adjust rails, diamonds, belts, and abrasives to meet product specifications.
  • Read production paperwork and communicate with leadership.
  • Complete required tasks and transactions within the ERP system.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Follow established safety practices and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Will crosstrain to be a backup in other positions.
  • All other duties assigned.

Wausau Tile is seeking a mechanically inclined, reliable individual to set up, adjust, and operate a variety of production equipment and machinery used to produce Terrazzo Tile products in a continuous production process. This role is responsible for maintaining production productivity while monitoring and ensuring products are produced consistently, safely, and according to quality standards. The position requires the ability to read blueprints, specification sheets, and production paperwork; use measuring equipment and hand tools; and safely operate and adjust production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up saws to cut products to the proper size and required piece count for each job.
  • Set up and operate the Bullnose and Bevel machines.
  • Adjust rails, diamonds, belts, and abrasives to meet product specifications.
  • Select appropriate packaging and prepare products for final packaging based on job requirements.
  • Prepare production samples for distribution and common carrier packaging.
  • Read production paperwork and communicate with leadership.
  • Complete required tasks and transactions within the ERP system.
  • Use measuring equipment and hand tools to adjust and maintain production equipment.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments and repairs as required.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently with a high level of proficiency.
  • Follow established safety practices and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and coworkers.
  • Will crosstrain to be a backup in other positions.
  • All other duties assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, walking, twisting, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. in all directions.
  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, fingers, knees, back, shoulders, and neck.
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to work around and operate production machinery and equipment.
