Job summary

WAUSAU TILE LLC is seeking a mechanically inclined individual to set up, adjust, and operate various production equipment for Terrazzo Tile products in a continuous process.

Responsibilities include operating saws and specialized machines, reading blueprints and paperwork, and ensuring safety and quality standards while maintaining ERP records and coordinating with leadership.

Job description

Position Summary:Wausau Tile is seeking a mechanically inclined, reliable individual to set up, adjust, and operate a variety of production equipment and machinery used to produce Terrazzo Tile products in a continuous production process. This role is responsible for maintaining production productivity while monitoring and ensuring products are produced consistently, safely, and according to quality standards. The position requires the ability to read blueprints, specification sheets, and production paperwork; use measuring equipment and hand tools; and safely operate and adjust production equipment.Key Responsibilities:Set up saws to cut products to the proper size and required piece count for each job.Set up and operate the Bullnose and Bevel machines.Adjust rails, diamonds, belts, and abrasives to meet product specifications.Select appropriate packaging and prepare products for final packaging based on job requirements.Prepare production samples for distribution and common carrier packaging.Read production paperwork and communicate with leadership.Complete required tasks and transactions within the ERP system.Use measuring equipment and hand tools to adjust and maintain production equipment.Perform routine equipment adjustments and repairs as required.Operate a forklift safely and efficiently with a high level of proficiency.Follow established safety practices and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and coworkers.Will crosstrain to be a backup in other positions.All other duties assigned.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.Frequent bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, walking, twisting, squatting, and kneeling.Ability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. in all directions.Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, fingers, knees, back, shoulders, and neck.Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and similar equipment.Ability to work around and operate production machinery and equipment.Safety:Safety and accident prevention are the primary responsibilities of all employees.Follow all established safe work practices and procedures at all times.Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of coworkers during all workplace communications and interactions.Support an employee-driven safety culture and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.Wausau Tile is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an Affirmative Action Plan Employer.
