Job summary

Brigham Young University in Provo seeks an Accessible Technology Resource Lab Technician (part-time 28 hrs/wk) to train, organize, and lead the ATRS Lab. You will ensure students with disabilities have equitable access to instructional materials and assistive technologies, producing accessible formats and accommodations.

You will supervise student employees, create procedures, and collaborate with faculty and campus partners to ensure compliance with disability laws and WCAG standards.

Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience in IT, disability studies, instructional technology, psychology, computer science or related field.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years of experience.
• Expertise with accessible document creation and remediation.
• Knowledge of screen readers and other assistive technologies.
• Ability to lead teams, manage projects, and improve operational efficiency.
• Experience with Braille production, tactile graphics, STEM accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of ATRS Lab in collaboration with ATRS Coordinator.
• Coordinate production of accessible instructional materials and formats.
• Collaborate with professors and coordinators on accessibility needs.
• Analyze service data and prepare reports on productivity and resources.
• Ensure materials comply with WCAG and disability laws.
• Assist with training student employees and new hires.
• Develop procedures to improve accessibility services and workflows.
