Job summary

Hunter College is seeking a Disability Services Coordinator to oversee day-to-day classroom accommodations for students registered with the Office of AccessABILITY. The role leads recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of note-takers, readers, and exam proctors, ensuring timely and confidential service delivery.

Collaborate with Disability Advisors, Testing Center staff, and faculty to implement approved accommodations in alignment with ADA/Section 504 and college policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (Education, Disability Studies, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field).
  • At least two years in disability services, student support, or related work in higher ed.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with ADA, Section 504, and higher education accessibility standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, training, and supervision of note takers, readers, and exam proctors.
  • Coordinate hiring, scheduling, and payroll processing for exam proctors.
  • Ensure services are delivered timely, accurate, and confidentially.
  • Work with Disability Advisors to align services with approved accommodations.
  • Partner with Testing Center staff to ensure proctor coverage and consistent procedures.
  • Produce reports requested by the agency and college administration.
  • Assist with budget projections and service-related financial planning.
  • Maintain records in compliance with ADA/Section 504 and college policies.
